Ministry of Interior & Residency Updates

The Ministry detailed ongoing readiness and changes to residency services:

  • Visa Amnesty: The Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs (NPRA) announced that all types of visit visa holders currently in Bahrain, whose stay expired starting from February 28, 2026, are exempt from delay fines. This exemption lasts for one additional month after the reopening of Bahrain’s airspace.
  • Cybersecurity Warning: The General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security urged citizens to verify news before resharing to avoid misleading public opinion or spreading unauthorized video clips.

Education and Remote Learning

The Ministry of Education outlined measures to ensure student safety:

  • Remote Learning Transition: Effective March 1, 2026, and until further notice, all public and private schools have transitioned to 100% remote learning via electronic platforms.
  • Student Participation: Over 150,000 public school students and 90,000 private school students have successfully integrated into the distance learning system.
  • Higher Education: More than 50,000 university students are continuing their academic semester through digital platforms monitored by the Higher Education Council.
  • Ministry Services: Educational services remain available through the official website and the national portal (bahrain.bh), with in-person appointments available only when strictly necessary.
