The National Communication Centre has released a detailed media briefing regarding the ongoing situation following hostile attacks targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Security and Defense Readiness

  • Successful Interceptions: The Bahrain Defense Force reports a high level of readiness, having intercepted and destroyed 143 missiles and 242 drones attempting to enter the Kingdom’s airspace.
  • Operational Response: Military and security directorates are coordinated within a comprehensive defense system. Main operation rooms are actively managing reports related to civil protection, traffic safety, and ambulance services.
  • Maritime Safety: A maritime ban in the northern region remains in effect daily from 6:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Authorities urge all those at sea to comply with these instructions to avoid legal liability.

Diplomatic and Consular Action

  • Repatriation of Citizens: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has successfully facilitated the safe return of the vast majority of Bahraini citizens from abroad. Operation rooms continue to work around the clock to ensure the safety of those still remaining outside the Kingdom.
  • Regional Solidarity: Bahrain spearheaded an extraordinary GCC ministerial meeting, resulting in a unified stance affirming the legal right of member states to respond to such aggressions.
  • International Legal Advocacy: The Kingdom has participated in emergency meetings with the League of Arab States and the European Union. These discussions emphasized that the attacks are a clear violation of international law and called for the immediate cessation of hostilities in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2817.
  • Global Security: Bahrain joined international partners in a joint statement strongly condemning attacks on commercial vessels and civilian infrastructure, particularly regarding the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

The briefing concludes by reiterating the necessity of obtaining information only from official sources and warns against the circulation of unverified rumors.
