Director Kamal to Launch New Children’s Wing at Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam News Desk
As part of the 79th Independence Day celebrations of India, the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) hosted a spirited speech competition titled “Echoes of Independence” under the auspices of the BKS Speech Forum. The event took place on Friday, August 15, from 5 PM to 7 PM, and saw enthusiastic participation from around 35 individuals across various age groups.
The competition was divided into three categories: 11–14 years, 15–17 years, and 18 years and above. Participants showcased their oratory skills, reflecting on various themes provided by the organisers.
In the 11–14 age group (Group 1), Angel Vinu secured the first prize, followed by Niya Khadija Anodiyil in second place, and Abel Tom Anish in third.
In the 15–17 age group (Group 2), Ridhi K Rajeevan clinched the top spot, while Charvi Jinsi and Surjith were awarded second, third, and fourth places respectively.
In the adult category (Group 3), Santosh Nair, Jacob Mathew, and Sajith Vellikulangara were awarded third, fourth, and fifth places respectively.

A formal closing ceremony followed the competition. The meeting was presided over by BKS Acting President Dileesh Kumar. Secretary of the Samajam Literary Section, Vinayachandran Nair, delivered the welcome address. Greetings were extended by Acting Secretary Mahesh G Pillai and Jibi Kudashnad, Joint Convener of the BKS Speech Forum. Program Convener Ashley Kurian proposed the vote of thanks. National integration songs and dances staged by youngsters added colours to the event.
All winners received prizes, and participation certificates were distributed to all attendees. Ajitha Rahul served as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
The event was a grand success, reflecting spirit of patriotism and encouraging youth and adults alike to express their thoughts on India’s independence.
